This project is currently under construction and is truly a one off. The idea is to end up as a 110 crewcab with a difference. The spec is never ending but the basic idea is to be a V8 auto , 5 seater vehicle. The inside is the main focus as it has a flat floor, one off gearbox tunnel, freelander leather seats, td5 spec dash but with dvd player, parking camera and a list if extras to match a rangerover. Almost everything is electric!
Outside is quite conventional but with a few touches to make it stand out from the croud. These will become clear as the build progresses.
We asked to completly rebuild a Defender 90 Station Wagon for an existing customer. The basis spec of the vehicle was a that of a 1998 vehicle. The base of the 90 was a new galv chassis with all new parts, 300 tdi engine and R380 gearbox, Boost alloys and BFG Tyres. Vehicle was finished in Bonnatti Grey.
This vehicle came into us from a customer who had been using it localy and it had become a victim of the salt air and water. Although looking rough around the edges, the underneath was in good condition due to it having a galvanised chassis. The brief was basicaly to remove all the rotten panels, replace with new and refurbish the body as required. We worked very closly with the customer to produce the vehicle just how he wanted it.
This vehicle came to us as a cat c damaged vehicle and we repaired it as required including fitting a face lift front end to the discovery
BRIEF OF VEHICLE WAS TO FULLY PREPARE VEHICLE TO BE IMPORTED TO IRELAND. IMPORT DUTY IS CHEAPER THE OLDER THE VEHICLE SO DONOR WAS AN EARLY 80'S EX FIRE BRIGADE 110. WE HAD TO STRIP AS REQUIRED, FIT A 300 TDI ENGINE AND GEARBOX AND FULLY PREPARE / RESPRAY BODY
We have been asked to prepare a vehicle that is a little different from the average 90. The brief was to create a vehicle that although based on a standard defender and looking like one to the average person, would be that little bit more fun to drive and have abit of a twist to it.
How we have gone about this is to completely rebuild the original donor vehicle from scratch. Every single part has been build back up from the ground how we think it should have been when new, creating a vehicle that will last for a very long time.
Spec will be shown as the build progresses......
